#37 In conversation with Zoe Scott

Whether you are operating a large or small business, the design and branding you use across your platforms and website is absolutely essential to your success.

In this episode, I am chatting with Zoe Scott. Zoe is an incredible and professional businesswoman who is a web designer and operates a branding agency. I think she is so amazing that she is solely responsible for my branding and new website.

Zoe shares her mission behind creating The Design Order, and her new business, The Design Order Store. The Design Order Store sells DIY design templates for businesses to guide them through creating beautiful marketing material and ensure consistency across their platforms.

We are such a connected partnership that she is now a client of mine too. I am helping her with all of her legalities for her businesses. She shares with me her initial hesitancy regarding hiring a lawyer and how her fears were alleviated when she started working with me.

Zoe will reveal the best and worst business advice she has received in her journey, and what she would tell her younger self if she could go back now.

I encourage you to listen to Zoe’s story and check out her websites to see the amazing products she is selling to help you uplevel your branding and marketing material.

TOPICS DISCUSSED AND WHERE TO FIND THEM:

[2:27]: The Design Order, Zoe’s main business, helps businesses to uplevel their visual branding through strategic design. The Design Order Store, her new secondary business, sells DIY design templates for younger businesses to help them create beautifully designed marketing material.

[4:51]: Consistency across marketing and platforms is pivotal to uplevel business branding.

[6:13]: Zoe provides a branding and style guide that has become my bible in my business. It ensures there is consistency across every project and platform.

[7:45]: Zoe really wanted to give business owners that extra help and guidance to strategize and design their branding. The brand guide is essential to ensuring that every aspect of design is considered and consistent.

[10:01]: Zoe has become one of my clients and she shares the original hesitancy she felt regarding hiring a lawyer due to stereotypes.

[12:33]: DIY is for Bunnings not for your legal documents.

[13:36]: The best business advice she has received - a positive mindset.

[14:31]: The worst business advice she has received - a business coach telling her that she will not succeed in business if she doesn’t sign up to his coaching business.

[16:15]: The advice she would give her younger self - don’t be so afraid of the unknown. Be more confident in your knowledge and skills and everything else can be figured out.

[17:14]: Where to find Zoe.

Hi there! I’m the founder and head architect behind Creative Process Collective, as well as owner and designer over at January Made Design.  You can guarantee I will greet you with an over the top smile and talk your ears off about all things creative, small business and probably pets (everyone loves pets). Serial over-sharer on social media, you’ll be able to find me most days sitting at my trestle table working away with a green tea and surrounded by too many house plants and most likely a cat stretched across my keyboard.
