#34 Tips To Get Paid In Business

Money is not a dirty word. I have found that there is often discomfort when discussing money in business and, as a result, business owners will frequently delay having important conversations.

I am here to tell you that asking for money is not selfish.

In this episode, I discuss practical tips that you can use to address getting payment for your goods and/or services in your small business. I will explain these in a simple, practical way that will help you tailor it to your business so you can generate consistent cash flow.

Everyone wants to get paid as quickly as possible. By implementing the tips in this episode you will create a positive discourse for money and have a clear method to deal with any problems surrounding delayed payments.

[02:02]: This discomfort discussing money is just a story we tell ourselves and it doesn’t have to be that way.

[02:14]: Asking for money is not selfish. You do not need to feel guilty about it.

[02:54]: Work through your money blocks. Get comfortable having money conversations!

[03:14]: Have tailored business terms and conditions in place.

[03:45]: Know how to use your business terms and conditions, and to integrate them into your internal systems and processes - there is no point having them and not using them.

[04:25]: Issue invoices in accordance with your business terms and conditions. This does not have to be at the end of your project or after the service. Incorporate deposits or progress payments and you will find standing debt reduced.
