#151 How I Help My Clients Make More Money As A Small Business Lawyer

When it comes to making more money in your business, you would likely think about how an accountant or bookkeeper might be of help. Or perhaps you might think about engaging a business coach to help you set up the infrastructure in your business which would bring in more cashflow. What doesn't often come to mind though, is how your business lawyer can help you make more money and that’s exactly what I’m going to talk about today.

In this episode, I share exactly what it is I do to help my clients build and sustain profitable businesses that thrive, not just survive. One of these ways is making sure that my clients have the right legal documents in place. When these documents are specifically tailored to your business, they set the foundation to help you avoid any unnecessary pitfalls.

Even with the most beautifully tailored legal documents, if you don’t know what to do with them, you can still land yourself in trouble. This is the other aspect of what I do when working with my clients. I discuss why we can’t overlook the value of having crystal clear systems and processes and how, combined with tailored legal documents, this will ensure that your business is profitable, your clients are happy and they keep coming back for more.

I share an example of what a thriving business looks like, honing in on the key aspects of understanding what you're delivering, how you deliver it, and having seamless onboarding and offboarding processes. I also talk about the incredible impact of referrals, the value they bring to your business and why your systems, processes and legal documents will impact the referrals you do or don’t receive.

We all know that cash flow is the cornerstone of every business, and without it, businesses can and do fail. This is why you need absolute clarity in every aspect of your business, to ensure that everything is happening as it should be, your clients are paying on time, and they keep coming back to you due to the level of professionalism you showed them every step of the way.

Toward the end of the episode, I share an example of a client who came to me with a heartbreaking situation, simply because she hadn’t issued her terms and conditions at the right time. Fortunately, circumstances like hers can be avoided and I hope this episode is helpful in pointing you in the right direction.
