#76 A New Financial Year - 5 Tips For a Strong Start

We’ve just arrived at a new financial year! I love this time of year as it feels like such a fresh start and a chance for a reset - even more than the 1st of January.

In this episode, I’m going to share my top 5 tips for what you can be doing in your small business now to set yourself up for a strong financial year ahead. These tips will help you to refocus and start the financial year with intention, structure and a plan.

Take advantage of this time as it provides a great opportunity for business owners to be reviewing processes and systems and all things legal. Sit down for a moment and write down these 5 tips to check off in your business to ensure that you’re kicking the financial year off in the best possible way.

If you have any questions about anything I’ve spoken about in this episode, please feel free to let me know. There are amazing resources for you to use on my Resources Page and don’t forget to download my Annual Legal Checklist to tick everything off and gain peace of mind knowing you’ve got everything covered.

TOPICS DISCUSSED AND WHERE TO FIND THEM:

[1:22]: #1 Check in on your business structure. This is particularly important if you’re a sole trader and thinking about changing to a company.

[2:12]: #2 Make sure that you have set up your director identification number. Check out my blog on this on my Resources page.

[3:11]: #3 Review your copy of my Annual Legal Checklist.

[4:08]: #4 Arrange a tax planning session with your accountant.

[4:51]: #5 Engage a bookkeeper. Just because we can do something ourselves, doesn’t mean we should.

[6:50]: Recap.
